Ingredients: Red gram dal, spice mix (Red chilli, coriander, fenugreek, cumin, black pepper) jaggery (sugar cane), salt tamarind powder, dried tomato bits, ghee (clarified butter fat), mustard, curry leaves, dried coriander leaves, turmeric powder and asafoetida.
- Makes about 8 litres of rasam
- Keep any unused quantity of the mix under refrigeration.
- Store in a cool dry place.
- Take 1 measure of rasam mix and add 7 measures water & Pressure cook for 1-2 whistles
- OR boil 7 measures of water, add 1 measure of rasam mix, cook for 10-12 minutes.
- Garnish with finely chopped fresh coriander leaves.
- Serve hot with rice/idli or urad vada.
